Bersatu fingers Umno for 'Bye Bye Anwar' banner

Bersatu leaders were in the dark over a banner bearing the party's logo that bade PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim "bye bye".
The banner was placed along Jalan Selatan Utama around 100 metres away from Harapan's ceramah in Taman Impian Emas, Skudai tonight.
The banner, which carried Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad's picture, read: "Resign Najib! Tun for PM, DSAI (Anwar) bye bye".
It also had Bersatu's logo as the backdrop and the words "Mahathir as the 4th and 7th prime minister" at the bottom.
When contacted, Bersatu secretary-general Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh said his party had no knowledge about the banner.

Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman (photo) pinned the blame on Umno.
"(It is) from the desperados in Umno but we are more united than ever so nothing they do to us will divide us," he told Malaysiakini.
DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang will make his first public appearance at the ceramah tonight following a cancer operation.
Harapan component parties have long seen Anwar as their prime ministerial candidate but the PKR de facto leader faces a five-year ban on politics due to a jail sentence.
Anwar was in Feb 2015 sent to jail for sodomy, a charge he claims was politically motivated. He is expected to be released in June this year.
As a compromise for naming Mahathir as Harapan's prime ministerial candidate, he has agreed to seek a royal pardon for Anwar if Harapan wins power and to subsequently allow Anwar to take over as the 8th prime minister.- Mkini
