AHH… A ‘ROS’ BY ANY OTHER NAME WOULD SMELL AS SWEET, DATIN SERI: NURUL APOLOGIZES IF SHE HAD BEEN ‘INADVERTENTLY’ RUDE TO ROSMAH

Rosmah Mansor took a stroll down memory lane this afternoon, recalling how she had known PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah when the latter was still a child with no teeth.
The wife of caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak said she felt upset when the 37-year-old lawmaker addresses her by name, instead of her honorific title Datin Seri, aunty or makcik.
In an immediate reaction, Nurul apologised to Rosmah if the latter felt offended that she had called her by name.
“Honestly, if I had inadvertently called her just by her name, I apologise. I have always done my best to address her by Datin Seri,” she told Malaysiakini.
“I have also done my best to maintain my positioning, criticism and feedback on key principles, not on personalities.
“Hence, the consistent reminder for us all to focus on systemic reforms, to ensure no other dictators manage to abuse the office of the prime minister,” she added.
Nurul also revealed that her mother, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and Rosmah had both attended the Tengku Kursiah College in Seremban.
Nurul’s father, jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, and Najib were once allies in Umno.
Meanwhile, Rosmah also lamented Nurul making accusations against her on social media and told her audience that she had started the Permata programme for children in order to teach them not to be rude.
