SEMPORNA: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) is asking people to ignore a viral message claiming that he and three other party members had won their seats uncontested.
"There is no truth in it. We are fighting in all our seats," said Shafie, refuting rumours that Warisan had won the Senallang, Likas, Keningau and Bugaya seats uncontested.
Shafie is defending his Semporna parliamentary seat and is up against his cousin Datuk Nasir Tun Sakaran for the Senallang state seat.
He added that there is no problem going against each other as they had both contested party posts during his time in Umno.
"It is just a case of political differences. There is nothing wrong contesting against family," said Shafie, who is in a straight fight against Nasir, the son of Sabah Umno's first chief minister Tun Sakaran Dandai.
He faces Umno's Datuk Ramlee Marahaban; Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah's Asmara Asmad and PAS' Abdul Nasir Abdul Raub in his sixth fight for Semporna.
State Umno executive secretary Datuk Kadzim Yahya also denied that any of their candidates had pulled out.
