Ku Nan to issue appointment letters to FT candidates

BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor will present letters of appointment to the Federal Territories BN candidates at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) this Sunday, Lembah Pantai Umno chief Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said.

"The letters of appointment will be presented by Tengku Adnan, who is also the Federal Territories BN chairperson," Raja Nong Chik was quoted as saying by Berita Harian yesterday.

He was also reported as saying that he was informed of his candidacy for the Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat.

The Malay daily reported that it had learnt BN state liaison committees would hold their ceremonies to issue letters of appointment to the candidates selected in their respective states.

According to an invite sighted by Malaysiakini, Tengku Adnan will also unveil the BN Federal Territories manifesto at the same event.

The event is dubbed "Launching of Manifesto and Introduction of FT BN candidates".

Malaysiakini was also tipped off by a source from the Bandar Tun Razak Umno division that its Youth wing leader, Adnan Abu Seman, has been instructed to receive his letter of appointment as the Bandar Tun Razakcandidate on April 22.

However, this information could not be verified, Also, four potential candidates of BN said they were not informed about any ceremony to issue the letters of appointment.

However, they noted that party's instruction was for them to stand by for the ceremony.

Last month, New Straits Times quoted a source as saying that caretaker prime minister and BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak was expected to announce BN's full list of candidates on April 2, five days before the launch of the ruling coalition's election manifesto. - Mkini
