Rocket and moon to collide in Johor

GE14 | The "rocket" and the "moon" are set for a major collision in Johor, as the PAS-led Gagasan Sejahtera fields candidates in almost every seat that DAP is contesting.
The parliament seats that PAS will field candidates in against DAP are Labis, Bakri, Ayer Hitam, Kluang, Kulai.
The Islamist party will also contest in DAP held state seats namely Jementah, Yong Peng, Penggaram, Johor Jaya, and Perling - formerly known as Pengkalan Rinting.
In total, PAS and Gagasan Sejahtera will contest 14 parliament seats and 28 state seats in Johor.
Besides contesting against DAP, the PAS-led coalition will also be contesting against Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin in both Pagoh and Gambir, as well as take on caretaker Johor menteri besar Khaled Nordin's state seat Permas.
Outside of Johor, other notable seats where PAS will clash with DAP include Puchong, Petaling Jaya, and Klang in Selangor; Segambut in the Federal Territories; and Taiping, Teluk Intan, and Kampar in Perak.
PAS and DAP were once allies in the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat in 2008 and 2013.
The two, however, had a falling out in 2015, which led to the break up of Pakatan, and the eventual birth of Pakatan Harapan.
PAS contesting against DAP could work out in the latter's favour, as the Islamist party could split the Malay votes, and give the win to DAP, which has strong support among the non-Malays, particularly in urban areas. -Mkini
