I’m ready to debate Azmin, says Rafizi

The former Pandan MP says it will be humiliating if there is no debate as Umno leaders did it.
Rafizi Ramli, who is contesting for deputy president, says he will decline any posts in the Cabinet if he wins the deputy president’s post.
PETALING JAYA: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli says he is prepared to have a debate with Azmin Ali, the party’s deputy president.
Rafizi, who is former Pandan MP, is contesting against Azmin for the deputy president’s post in the upcoming PKR elections.
“If there is no debate, it will be very humiliating because Umno has done it before,” he said in an interview with Astro Awani tonight.
He said it was good to have debates to clarify issues.
In June, just before the party elections for Umno, there was a debate among the main candidates for the Umno president’s post, involving Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh, Bagan Datuk MP Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin.
Rafizi had launched his campaign to wrest the deputy president’s post and had released a list of eight people that he would be supporting in the coming polls.
They comprise Nurul Izzah Anwar, Johari Abdul, William Leong, S Kesavan, Fuziah Salleh, Rodziah Ismail, Akmal Nasir and Raymond Ahuar.
Rafizi has pledged loyalty to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
During the interview, Rafizi said he would decline any posts in the Cabinet if he wins the deputy president’s post. -FMT
