Credit and congrats are due when they are due. Congrats to the Attorney General's Chambers for acting fast on this case. These are the fellows who assaulted the UM students who were peacefully expressing their rights to speak freely. Three of these fellows have now been charged in Court.
One of them is being charged under Section 426 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail sentence of FIVE years. Here is the news:

My comments:
This is an extremely important case. It is very important because legal precedents must be set through the Rule of Law. We must show these people and also show the world that Malaysia follows the Rule of Law.
You do the crime then be prepared to do the time.
Because the Law will catch up with you.
I really hope the AG prosecutes this case to the maximum, that these fellows are convicted and sent to jail.
This case is important because it is high time people realise that in Malaysia we have freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of thought.
If you dont agree with what someone says then you go and stand on another street corner and shout back all you want about them. Or you can write a Blog or put a posting in Facebook, Tweet etc to say what is it that you disagree with. Apa susah sangat nak faham?
But you have no right to attack people and assault them just because you dont agree with what they are saying. That is worse than animal behaviour.
The problem is that after being in power for 63 years these folks are suddenly finding out that they cannot strut around naked like the emperor and not expect people to laugh at them. That is what is happening now. They have been exposed for what they are.
And they are reacting using what they have been using for so long - violence, force, threats, intimidation, May 13 will happen again (Yo bodoh buntot lembus, May 13 happens every year lah - between May 12 and May 14.)
And we must prove to ourselves that Malaysia is a country that is ruled by the Law.
There is no other choice.
It is either the Rule of Law or Rule by the Mobs.
We must go with the Rule of Law.
The ball is now in the AG's Court.
Please do a good job and put these violent people behind bars.
All the peace loving people in this country are grateful to the AGC for upholding the law.
Congratulations and Syabas to the AGC, and in particluar to Mr Tommy Thomas.
