'If I have such a follower, I will resign and dissolve the party'

While Hadi did not mention any names, his remarks at the 60th PAS Youth muktamar in Kuantan today came in the wake of the sex scandal videos implicating PKR Santubong Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz and PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.

"If I have such a follower, I will resign and dissolve the party. For us, morality is the foundation of the party.

"Morality protects our identity and forms the core of our struggle, our daily lives, and our ups and downs in the general elections," he stressed.

Last Sunday, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said no action would be taken against Haziq who admitted his involvement in a close proximity video, allegedly with a cabinet minister.

Anwar also said PKR would wait for the outcome of the police investigation rather than make a hasty decision on Haziq before he was proven guilty.

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man yesterday reiterated the party's stand that a person who confessed to an immoral act must be punished in order to prevent more people from making similar allegations against another person.

Last week, several unknown individuals leaked the sex video clips allegedly depicting Azmin and Haziq together via several WhatsApp groups.

In a ‘confession’ posted on his Facebook account, Haziq claimed to be the person in the clip shown engaging in sexual acts with another individual.

He also claimed that it was Azmin in the clips, and that their alleged tryst was recorded in the minister's hotel room in Sandakan during the by-election last month.

Azmin has described the videos as a nefarious plot designed to ruin his political career.

The police are investigating the videos and determining if the clips are authentic. - Mkini
