Khairil Nizam becomes PAS Youth chief uncontested

PAS MUKTAMAR | Former PAS Youth deputy chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin has won the PAS Youth chief post uncontested at the 60th PAS Youth muktamar in Kuantan today.

A total of 721 delegates had gathered to vote at Bukit Gambang Resort City and PAS Youth elections director Mohd Fuad Mohd Salleh announced Khairil Nizam's appointment for the 2019-2021 term.

A trained engineer, the 40-year-old Perak-born also manages one of PAS' integrated primary schools.

This year's election saw no contest for the wing's three top posts, while 16 candidates ran for 12 committee member positions.

Former PAS Youth chief Khalil Abdul Hadi did not defend his post and instead moved up to run for a PAS central committee member post.

Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, a former PAS Youth vice-chief, moved up to fill Khairil Nizam's vacant deputy post.

Former Penang PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden, meanwhile, was elected as the new PAS Youth vice-chief.
