Dr Mahathir on Zakir Naik : Yeah we have a multiracial, multireligious population in Malaysia. We dont want anybody who comes up and expresses extreme views on race realtions and about other religions so to that extent we cannot have him but on the other hand it is difficult to send him anywhere else because many countries do not want to have him.

I repeat again what Dr Mahathir said  :

"Yeah we have a multiracial, multireligious population in Malaysia. We dont want anybody who comes up and expresses extreme views on race relations and about other religions, so to that extent we cannot have him but on the other hand it is difficult to send him anywhere else because many countries do not want to have him."

This is what Dr Mahathir said about Zakir Naik in an interview in Turkey. You can listen to Dr Mahathir yourself in the You Tube video here. The comments above can be heard beginning minute 23:30.

Of course the local Press has picked up on these most beguiling and contradicting comments.  Here are Mkini and The Star :

Malaysia in Catch-22 predicament regarding Zakir Naik, according to Dr Mahathir

interview in Turkey PM (said) Indian-born preacher posed problem to social fabric

"We have a multiracial and multireligious population in Malaysia. We don't want anybody who comes up and expresses extreme views about race relations and about other religions.  So to that extent, we cannot have him, but on the other hand it is difficult to send him anywhere else because many countries do not want to have him," he said.

Zakir, a M'sian PR, wanted by India for money laundering

Dr M's decision not to acquiesce to India rooted in fear of backlash from Malays

And here is The Star:

Controversial Zakir Naik is unwelcome in Malaysia
but country facing difficulties sending him away

interview with Turkish news channel TRT

Dr Mahathir said Zakir's extreme views threat to racial, religious relations
difficult to remove him because no other country wanted him

We don't want anybody who expresses extreme views about race, other religions
it is difficult to send him anywhere else because many countries do not want him

Foreign Minister said M'sia would not extradite Zakir despite application from India

My comments :  Well it is not true that all countries do not want to have him.  India wants Zakir Naik badly.

So please let him go to India. India is also where he was born, raised, grew up and bought over RM100 MILLION worth of apartments and other properties - which the Indians say was bought using illegal laundered money. And they have charged him with money laundering.

Zakir Naik says he made over RM100 million from his businesses. What businesses? Selling chapatti?

Ok assuming Zakir Naik did run many, many, many businesses.

Lets say he was very clever in business, in between his busy preaching and screeching schedule all over the world. And lets say that he could churn out a 10% net profit (after taxes) from all his businesses.

That means his sales turnover must be something like RM100 million  / 10% = RM1000 million or RM 1 BILLION !! Wow !

In Indian rupees that is about 16,688,000,000 Indian rupees or 16.7 BILLION rupees.

Ok lets make him more clever. Lets say Zakir Naik could churn out a 20% net profit after taxes.

This means his business revenue was about RM500 million. Or over 8.35 BILLION Indian rupees. Wow !

So what business was he involved in?
How many factories does he own in India or anywhere?
What are the products or services he was producing?

He is also a citizen of Saudi Arabia. How can any country in the world NOT want to have its own citizens come back home? So please let him go to Saudi Arabia where he is a citizen. He is NOT a citizen of Malaysia.

If  many countries do not want to have him"  then why does Malaysia want him?
Who elected Malaysia to become the tong sampah of the world?

"Yeah we have a multiracial, multireligious population in Malaysia. We dont want anybody who comes up and expresses extreme views on race relations and about other religions, so to that extent we cannot have him "

Then why is he still here? He has already expressed his views for years and years. And (in a huge unbelievable coincidence) terrorists like those attackers in Bangladesh and the latest bombing attack in Sri Lanka seem to express some sort of reverence for him.  (The terrorists do not seem to express any reverence err . . for  . . err . . OSTB for example. But they seem to love Zakir Naik.)

He is banned in Singapore, UK, USA, Bangladesh and other countries. These are fairly well civilised countries.

We dont want anybody who comes up and expresses extreme views on race relations and about other religions, so to that extent we cannot have him
