Umno is confident that its alliance with PAS will see Pakatan Harapan defeated in five states which the coalition currently controls.
At a ceramah in Kuala Lumpur today, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan said the five states that would fall at the next general election were Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Perak and Johor.
He said the new alliance would also ensure BN and PAS would continue to rule Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Perlis.
"Don't talk about seat (negotiations yet). We want to win. We must collaborate properly. Don't be greedy or we will lose.
"If we do it right, Malacca can, we can take Negeri Sembilan. We can win in Perak. Win in Kedah, retain Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
"If we really come up with a good recipe, we can take back Johor.
"I don't have a prediction for Selangor," he said at the ceramah at the Umno headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
The ceramah was the part of a two-day event - known as the "Himpunan Penyatuan Ummah" (Ummah Unity Gathering) to mark the signing of a formal cooperation charter between Umno and PAS.
Some 3,000 people were present tonight.
Earlier, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man told the audience that the unity of the ummah and the cooperation between PAS and Umno were in line with the what the late former PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat wanted.
Tuan Ibrahim, who is Nik Abdul Aziz's nephew, said he was very familiar with what the former PAS supreme leader wanted.
"If he was still here, (and) I know him very well since young [...] he always said that there was a need for Muslims to unite," said Tuan Ibrahim. - Mkini
