What do Ketuanan Melayu and Bumiputra status imply? Ketuanan Melayu implies the inferiority of the non-Malays. What does making Islam as the national religion of Malaysia implies? It implies that all other religions are inferior to Islam. Legislation design to preserve Ketuanan Melayu and to promote Islam as the national religion of Malaysia serves to entrench these toxic notions in the Malay mentality at a time when the world is accepting of the notion that all men are created equal and that the freedom to practice one’s belief is becoming a universal truth.

Today the Malays look upon the non-Malays as undeserving of having a place in Malaysia. Non-Muslims are regarded as Infidels and are hounded for their beliefs and prevented from propagating their religion as the Muslims can do, in Malaysia.

Today, I dare say that there is not one single non-Malay who has not experienced discrimination for not being a Malay. There is not a single infidel who does not understand and can feel, the onerous burden of being hounded and even prosecuted for practicing their own religious belief.

All this is not of the times that we now live in. We need to change before it is too late. We need to change before race and religious armageddon overtakes us all.
