A British charity that provides support to its nationals during crises overseas is trying to locate a female traveller who is feared missing with her last known location in Langkawi about a week ago.
The Lucie Blackman Trust said Dina Ramadan, 30, had been travelling to Morocco, Bali and Malaysia since March and had contacted her family last on Oct 17.
Dina had then told her family that she was planning to leave Langkawi to attend a conference in Bali.
"She has not been seen or heard from since."
"Dina is believed to be vulnerable and her family are extremely concerned for her welfare," said the organisation on its website.
Urging those with information to contact them immediately, the trust described Dina as of medium build with a height of 164 centimetres.
She has long, curly, dark brown hair with brown eyes, and wears spectacles.
Those from overseas who have information on Dina can call the trust at +44800 098 8485 or e-mail it at ops@lbtrust.org
The Lucie Blackman Trust is the same organisation that had provided support to the family of Nora Anne Quoirin, a Franco-Irish teenager who went missing in Negeri Sembilan on Aug 4.
Her body was found nine days later on Aug 13 by a team of volunteer hikers, near a small stream in a valley located some 2km from the resort where the teenager and her family were staying at the time.
Meanwhile, checks with the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur revealed that it has been notified of Dina's case.
"The British High Commission is responding to report of a missing British person in Malaysia," a spokesperson said in reply to Malaysiakini's query without elaborating further.
The case, however, is believed to have not been reported to the local authorities yet as checks with Langkawi police found that they have not received any report concerning Dina's whereabouts.
Langkawi police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said: "We have checked and so far, there has been no report received in Langkawi." - Mkini
