FEARING CALLS TO STRIP HIM OF HIS NO.2 POST, AZMIN CARTEL STARTS TO SPREAD RIDICULOUS PROPAGANDA? HOW CAN PKR YOUTH WING PLAN TO SNUB DR M’S BLUE-EYED BOY DEEPEN DISCORD – WHEN HIS CARTEL ALREADY SEEN AS DE-FACTO BERSATU MEMBERS & THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DISRESPECTED THEIR OWN PARTY FIRST BY REFUSING TO ATTEND MEETINGS? WHAT SORT OF MESSAGE WILL PKR LEADERS SEND TO GRASSROOTS BY ‘HONORING’ SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS OWN PARTY? INSTEAD, PKR WINGS SHOULD RESOLVE TO SACK HIM & HIS COHORTS!

BREAKING with tradition by snubbing Mohamed Azmin Ali at the annual PKR youth congress is not an issue but may not be the wisest move given internal tensions, said the party grassroots.
Former Batu PKR women’s chief Norshita Md Zain said traditions change with time but to shun the deputy president on account of the statements he made against the party will only deepen splits.
She is against the youth wing’s plan to invite Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail instead of Azmin to officiate at the congress next month.
Whatever differences its leaders may have, she said, PKR must not be like Umno, which sidelined Muhyiddin Yassin, its then deputy president, at its 2015 general assembly after his criticism of then president Najib Razak and the 1Malaysia Development Bhd fiasco.
“We must not become like Umno, sidelining leaders. The deputy president should not be denied the tradition of officiating at the party wings’ congresses.
“I don’t agree with the things Azmin has said and done but I also don’t want discord in the party. Sure, there are divisions, but we don’t need to show them to the world.”
Party sources last week told The Malaysian Insight about PKR Youth’s plan to snub Azmin in favour of Wan Azizah, who held the presidency since the party’s founding until August last year, when her husband, Anwar Ibrahim, took over.
This is to “send a message” to Azmin over his remarks that have tarnished the party’s image and appear to not be in support of Anwar as the next prime minister, they said.
The women’s wing, however, is still inviting the party No. 2 to officiate at its annual gathering.

Sources also said Azmin has shown a disregard for PKR’s top leaders by consistently failing to attend leadership council meetings, as well as the weekly political bureau meets.
Based on some of the more cryptic statements he has made, Azmin seems to be opposed to the handover of power from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to Anwar, which has been agreed on by all Pakatan Harapan parties.
Widely shared among PKR circles is a poster announcing that “Kak Wan” – as Wan Azizah is sometimes called – will officiate at the youth wing’s congress, to be held in Malacca on December 6.
PKR deputy permanent chairman Othman Karim said the practice of having the deputy president officiate at wings’ meetings is not set in stone.
“It’s just tradition that the deputy president officiates at the meetings of the party’s wings, so that the president can focus on his address to the main congress.
“It isn’t a must for it to be the deputy president.”
He said the party president and central leadership will have a say on who addresses the wings’ congresses, adding that there has yet to be a decision.
Whoever officiates at the gathering next month does not matter to Kepong PKR youth member Hanzalah Zullkeflee, who said those who view it as a slight against Azmin are blowing the matter out of proportion.
“It doesn’t mean that there’s conflict. Traditions can change.”
