KUALA LUMPUR: Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali came to the defence of Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in the Dewan Rakyat today, saying Lim was a minister who prioritised the people.
Answering a supplementary question from Shahidan Kassim (BN-Arau) on the 2020 Budget, Azmin expressed confidence that Lim will pay attention to the grouses of the opposition MPs as he cared for the people.
This drew a response from Alexander Nanta Linggi (GPS-Kapit) who praised the economic affairs minister, saying Azmin cared more for Malaysians than Lim does.
“As I’ve heard just now, when you visited (Sarawak) and saw the dilapidated schools, immediately RM14 million was approved.
“That’s a minister who cares for the people. The finance minister doesn’t care that much for the people. You’re more caring for the people,” he said, followed by shouts of support from Shahidan.
Azmin replied by maintaining that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government worked together as a team, drawing cheers from the PH benches.- FMT
