Student to Umno: Don't create youths who are 'pig-shooting champions'

UMNO AGM | A student delegate at the Umno general assembly today reminded the party not to create youths who were "pig-shooting champions".
Muhammad Mirza Adnan (above) said this in taking a swipe at Pakatan Harapan's alleged failure to create quality youth leaders.
"We have to learn from the party on the other side whose youths end up being failed products.
"The youth and sports minister (Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman) is the best example of a youth who was not ready but was given an opportunity and ended up the butt of our jokes.

"He (Syed Saddiq) also created a trust deficit among youths. We don't want youths in Umno to be pig-shooting champions," he said in his debate speech.
The term "pig-shooting champion" referred to the "accolade" bestowed on Malacca state exco member Norhizam Hassan Bakteeby by state assembly speaker Omar Jaafar last month.
This was after a lively exchange in the state assembly over the population of wild boars in the state and whether an operation to shoot the bovines had been completed.
Omar clarified that the term was meant to show that Norhizam was a hard worker.
Meanwhile, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan also jokingly self-proclaimed himself as a "pig shooting champion" during an exchange with party permanent chairperson Badruddin Amiruldin.
Badruddin had told Mohamad that his time to deliver his speech had run out to which the deputy president retorted: "Do you know who I am?"
"I am the 'pig shooting champion' [...] Don't disturb me. Are you the 'YB' or am I the 'YB'?" he said.
This was another jab at Norhizam who had uttered remarks about who was a "YB" (elected representative) in a heated exchange with a member of the public last year. - Mkini
