CORONAVIRUS | The queen and Johor ruler has donated equipment for hospitals recently, according to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah has donated 100 beds to the Sungai Buloh hospital and 50 to the Kuala Lumpur general hospital.
In thanking the queen, Noor Hisham said this was a morale booster for healthcare workers who are trying to save the country.
Noor Hisham also expressed gratitude to Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for donating 42 ventilators.
He said the machines would be used in hospitals throughout Johor.
Late last month, the Health Ministry said it had prepared 925 ventilators for Covid-19 patients and the government was in the process of acquiring 500 more.
As of yesterday, only 38 patients required ventilators. - Mkini
