Former federal territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad confirmed his former political secretary Azli Yusuf was arrested by police and is now held under remand.
Khalid (above) said the arrest yesterday was based on a complaint from an architecture firm which allegedly received a fake development order (DO) from a "broker".
The Shah Alam MP claimed the broker had used Azli's name to convince that it can obtain the DO for the architecture firm.
"I cannot say more as the case is still under police investigation.
"I was informed that the broker received millions of ringgit by using other people's (Azli's) name.
"The broker pulled it off due to the belief that 'cash is king'. The broker becomes rich and the person whose name was used becomes the victim," he said on Twitter. - Mkini
