KUALA LUMPUR: The Pavilion Embassy construction site has been placed under targeted enhanced movement control order (TEMCO) after 28 construction workers tested positive for Covid-19.
There are 400 workers at the site, mostly foreigners.
Deputy Federal Territories Minister Edmund Santhara said the 28 workers, all foreigners, were immediately sent to hospital.
“The rest have been placed under strict quarantine in a hotel,” he told FMT.
“All costs will be paid by the main contractor and developer.”
When an area is placed under TEMCO, he said, each area and household would be checked.
“Just like what we did at the PPR flat at Kampung Baru. Only the affected houses were locked down, and they were assisted.”
According to Santhara, there are 1,200 construction sites in Kuala Lumpur.
