In a statement later confirming the lockdown and listing the affected areas, Ismail Sabri, who is also defence minister, said the order would cover an estimated 2,900 residents and business premises.
He said a medical base will be set up at the enhance MCO area.
“To ensure the order is followed, police, armed forces, civil defence forces, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) and People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) will be monitoring the area,” the minister said.
Residents can contact the Petaling Jaya control room at 016-980 9389 or the Petaling Jaya police district headquarters operations centre at 03-7966 2222 for help or enquiries. - Mkini
