KOTA KINABALU: Sabah MCA treasurer Datuk Chin Kim Hiung (pic) has been appointed as chairman of the state Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) effective May 14.
Chin, who is Libaran MCA chief, said he received his appointment letter from the Transport Ministry a few days ago.
“My gratitude goes to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong for their trust and blessings.“I will live up to my responsibilities and do my part within the term of office.
“The first thing I will do is to have a meeting with the state CVLB officials for me to better understand the operation and services of the CVLB, as well as to discuss how we can further improve our services to the commercial vehicle operators and public,” said Chin.
Chin, 52, a businessman from Sandakan, has been in politics since 1994 and the appointment is his first for a government position.
He was the former MCA Youth (national) deputy organisation secretary and former Sabah MCA Youth secretary. - Star
