Selangor government has agreed to ban alcohol, cigarettes and vape throughout the playgrounds and recreational parks in the state with immediate effect.
This is the announcement by the state's local government, public transportation and new village development exco Ng Sze Han (above) at a press conference in Dewan Negeri Selangor today.
“With the amendment of Undang-Undang Kecil Taman 2005, the state of Selangor under the leadership of Pakatan Harapan will be the first state in Malaysia to ban drinking alcohol and cigarettes in playgrounds and recreational parks.”
“Nowadays, a healthy lifestyle is becoming a practice and priority for the people of Malaysia. Playgrounds and recreational parks are also increasingly visited by all walks of life including children and senior citizens for sports and family activities.”
“For the comfort and health of the visitors post-Covid-19, it is time to ban drinking alcohol and smoking in playgrounds and recreational parks," he said. - mkini
