Teachers conducting classes on music and the Quran will be allowed to hold one-to-one teaching lessons, from tomorrow, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.
The decision was made at a special meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) today, following appeals from the Music Centre and Music Teachers Association.
They have appealed to the government to allow music teachers to conduct classes in the areas placed under the conditional movement control order.
"The matter was raised by the NSC director-general (Ahmad Shapawi Ismail) himself and we agreed to allow the music teachers (to provide) one-to-one lessons. The same goes for Quranic teachers, (who will be allowed) to teach one-to-one," Ismail Sabri said.
"Perhaps other matters will be considered by us as well. We have requested the NSC to look at this in a comprehensive manner, not only the one-to-one music and Quranic (lessons), but also tuition."
The NSC, the minister added, would come out with standard operating procedures (SOP) on the one-to-one teaching.
Meanwhile, the operating hour for the morning markets and wet markets in the area under the conditional MCO will be extended by two hours to 4pm every day, he said.
"The government heard the voices of constraint faced by the petty traders as the markets only allowed to open from 10am to 2pm. The special meeting today discussed and agreed to extend the operating hour until 4pm," added Ismail Sabri.
The new ruling will take effect tomorrow. - Mkini
