MY E.G. Services Bhd (MyEG) will facilitate the collection of payments made in relation to Covid-19 tests or quarantine centre charges issued by the government to the public.
The company said they received a letter of acceptance from the Health Ministry on Oct 8 to provide an online payment system for inbound travellers to register and pay, prior to their arrival in Malaysia, for Covid-19 tests and quarantine charges to be implemented at all entry points to the country.
"The agreement shall be valid for a period of two years commencing from Nov 1, 2020, to Oct 31, 2022," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
Under the agreement, MyEG will allow the public to make payments to the government and the company will not impose service charges or other charges to the government during the term of the agreement.
"The board of directors does not foresee any risks in relation to the services as the services have no fixed value as it is dependent on the number of transactions and the service options selected by users," it said.
In a separate filing, MyEG said its Philippines arm had partnered with Family Vaccine Specialty Clinics, Inc (Health Direct Now) to develop a mobile application for the booking and payment of Covid-19 tests, along with the issuance of digital QR code as proof of testing.
It said that Health Direct Now is an initiative by Family Vaccine and Specialty Clinics which operates the largest chain of vaccination clinics in the Philippines with 41 centres to provide accessible testing for Covid-19.
"Under the partnership, MyEG Philippines will develop the mobile application for Health Direct Now and will also be its exclusive payment gateway partner.
"MyEG Philippines will also jointly set up and share proportionally in the profits of Covid-19 testing booths on a 50:50 basis," it added.
