PARLIAMENT | Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the government will be making some cuts to the Supply (Budget) Bill 2021, including the allocation for the Special Affairs Department (Jasa).
"In terms of reductions, I have proposed to reduce the allocation for Jasa.
"We will announce this at the committee stage," he said to a question by Mukhriz Mahathir (Pejuang-Jerlun).
Prior to this, Zafrul had announced several tweaks to the bill which saw more handouts, prompting Mukhriz to demand where cuts are being made.
Originally, the federal government had planned to allocate RM85.5 million to Jasa.
The department had often been criticised as a propaganda unit. The previous Pakatan Harapan administration had disbanded the department.
