PARLIAMENT | As the Dewan Rakyat ends its sixth week of sitting for this current session, three more ministries' budgets under the Supply (Budget) Bill 2021 have been passed after committee stage debates today.
The Communications and Multimedia Ministry was the latest to have its budget passed, at close to 5pm through a bloc vote.
A total of 107 MPs voted to pass the ministry's operations’ allocations amounting to RM1,197,464,900. Another 100 MPs voted against the budget, while 13 others were absent.
The amount has taken into account a government motion passed to slash RM45 million from an initial RM85.5 million allocation for the ministry to revive the Special Affairs Department (Jasa).
Budgets for the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Human Resource Ministry were also passed earlier today, via voice votes.
The government has in total passed the budgets for 22 ministries, leaving five more up for debates when Parliament resumes next Monday for the final week of sitting for this session, which ends on Dec 17.
