Newly appointed Selangor Perikatan Nasional chief Azmin Ali today urged coalition members in the state to unite in order to serve Selangorians and the country.
"As a coalition, PN's struggle is one that is sacred, noble, and sincere which aims to uphold the dignity of the people and the country.
"Therefore, I urge all PN component parties, leaders, and grassroots, especially in Selangor, to contribute new strength and synergy for the best of the people and prosperity of the country," he said in a statement today.
Azmin said he was grateful to PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin for trusting him and vowed to strengthen the coalition in the state.
The Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyperson said he is aware that Selangor is cosmopolitan and progressive. Therefore, Selangor PN will work hard to meet the aspirations of the people in terms of ensuring security and economic progress.
"Selangor PN will continue policies which care about the people, spur the economy, and ensure the efficient delivery of services to the people during these challenging times.
"To ensure the success of such efforts, Selangor PN will foster unity among the rakyat so we can work together towards the development of the country," he said.
Azmin was the menteri besar of Selangor between Sept 23, 2014 and June 18, 2018.
His appointment as the Selangor PN head would likely signal that he was the coalition's nominee for menteri besar, should it form the state government in the future. - Mkini
