KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded another cluster involving a boarding school in Sandakan with cumulative cases of 15.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the Jalan Labuk cluster's index case was a symptomatic student who was tested positive on April 7.
"Close contacts screening at the school hostel found 10 students tested positive, using the RTK antigen and PCR tests, while the other four infected are housemates.
"The source of infection and contact tracing are still ongoing," he said in a statement.
Another cluster involved a boarding school was the Jalan Khidmat cluster.
The state also logged the Biah Skim cluster in Keningau, that was detected when its index case tested positive before being warded at a medical facility's antenatal ward on April 13.
The pregnant woman had attended a funeral on March 29 at Kampung Biah Skim together with her family members and neighbours.
For the Megah Jaya cluster, it involved workers' hostels at Bandar Megah in Sandakan, said Masidi, who is also the state Local Government and Housing minister.
"The cluster was detected on April 12 when the index case, who works at a health centre, developed symptoms and tested positive for the virus.
"Out of 37 close contacts screening, 17 have been infected. Based on observation, the infection had spread among those who stay at the workers' hostels," he added.
Masidi said the Melangkap Tomis cluster had emerged following an engagement ceremony at Kampung Melangkap Tomis on March 30.
The cluster, which involved the Tuaran and Kota Belud districts, was detected on April 7 with cumulative infections of 10 cases so far.
