Kelantan police have asked the people to use a new permission letter for interstate or inter-district travel during the enforcement of the movement control order (MCO) in seven districts in the state starting today until April 29.
Its chief, Shafien Mamat (above) said it was found that there were some people who are still using old letters.
"Action will be taken against those who are still stubborn," he told reporters after inspecting a roadblock at the Sultan Yahya Petra Bridge in Kota Bahru early today.
He said 500 police personnel and volunteers would be stationed at 17 roadblocks for two weeks during the MCO period.
On Wednesday, Senior Minister (Security) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the affected seven districts are Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Machang, Tumpat and Tanah Merah.
He said that health authorities confirmed an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases by 30.5 percent from 756 to 1,088 for the past 14 days.
