Adults can walk-in for booster shots in Klang Valley from tomorrow

The four integrated vaccination centres in the Klang Valley will be open to all adults for walk-in booster shots of the Covid-19 vaccine beginning tomorrow.

The four vaccination centres (PPVs) are the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre, the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, and the Soka Gakkai Hall in Klang.

“The vaccines used at the integrated vaccination centres in the Klang Valley are the AstraZeneca vaccine.

“However, the Pfizer vaccine will also be provided to certain individuals such as pregnant mothers who have received appointments and individuals who have contraindications against the AstraZeneca vaccine,” said the Health Ministry in a statement today.

It said the booster vaccination rate in the Klang Valley is now very encouraging at 68.2 percent of the adult population, which is close behind top performer Sarawak’s 69.5 percent.

Offering walk-in vaccinations will increase the booster shot uptake further, said the ministry, while ensuring the Klang Valley population will have optimum immunity against Covid-19 including against the Omicron variant.

Those attending walk-in booster vaccinations are urged to ensure their digital vaccination certificate in MySejahtera is complete so the process runs smoothly.

Previously, the four integrated PPVs offered walk-in booster shots to senior citizens beginning Jan 19.

On Monday, offsite vaccination centres in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Penang, and Sarawak also began offering walk-in booster shots to senior citizens.

No Covid-19 booster shots are currently approved in Malaysia for children and adolescents.
