British Empire Creating War In Ukraine

Everyday the western media is hyping up their imagination of a war in the Ukraine.  The situation is imaginably very tense along the Ukraine - Russia border.

The victim is Ukraine. The boogeyman is Russia. The target is perhaps Germany. The price as well as the prize is gas. Big oil is involved.  Big money is involved.

Adding real weaponry to the imaginary feud are the good ole Brits - who have been flying hundreds of tons of weapons (small arms, anti tank rockets, missiles etc) into Kiev (the Ukrainian capital) over the past weeks.

Ukraine (yellow highlight with red border) and the Crimea (that small dark blue patch) have been conflict zones ever since the old USSR broke up (in 1990?)

There are primary reasons for the conflict - mainly the Ukrainians have their own language and history. They are not Russians. However about 30% of Ukraine's 45+ million population are native Russian speakers - a sizeable minority. In Crimea 90% of the 2.5 million people are native Russian speakers. Only 10% of the population in Crimea speak Ukrainian. So they cannot share the same jokes, which could be a problem.

Then there are secondary reasons. Ever since the old USSR broke up the busy body Brits and the USA have got former Eastern European and Soviet countries like  Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania,  Croatia, Montenegro and North Macedonia to join NATO. Ukraine is also supposed to have joined NATO (but I think not fully there yet).

So the NATO noose around Russia is tightening.  Russia is worried that too many NATO countries are sitting along its borders.

Then the EU lost the British. Even before Brexit, the Germans dominated the European Union. Now minus Britain the Germans are dominating the EU more than ever. The Germans also see the American presence in Europe (and NATO too) as approaching "expired shelf life".

Over the years the Germans have become closer to Russia.  Just four days ago the Chief of the German Navy was forced to resign for making pro Russia remarks.

"BERLIN, Jan 22, 2022 (Reuters) - Germany's navy chief stepped down on Saturday after drawing criticism for saying Russian President Vladimir Putin deserved respect and that Kiev (Ukraine) would never win back annexed Crimea from Moscow."

Germany has shut down all their nuclear and coal fired power plants. They are approaching 100% gas fired power production.  And almost 100% of Germany's gas imports come from Russia including from the Nordstream 1 undersea gas pipeline which runs from Russia to Germany.

Recently the Nordstream 2 gas pipeline has also been completed but the Americans and the British are exerting strong pressure on Germany from buying more gas from Russia. So Nordstream 2 is not operational yet.

If Nordstream 2 starts pumping gas Germany will be more dependent on good relations with Russia.  Germany's energy security will then depend on the security of Russia. Not on NATO or the European Union. The shelf life of NATO, the EU, the USA and the UK will become even less important to Germany.

Then there is also China. China is now the largest trading partner of both Germany and Russia. (China is also the largest trading partner of the USA).  In short Germany is increasingly looking east to Russia and China.

America and the UK have been kicked out of Afghanistan and the Middle East. America is slowly but surely being kicked out of the Western Pacific. It appears that America's position in Europe is also fading.

Stirring up trouble in places like Ukraine could be a rear-guard action to delay their inevitable departure from the scene.

Over the past few weeks, the Ukraine crisis has sent gas prices up.

So the oil majors are making money. So is Russia.

The Brits / Americans could stir up a Gulf of Tonkin type situation. Those 30% Russian speakers inside Ukraine are vulnerable.

If any shooting starts in Ukraine the EU / NATO could be strong armed to apply full sanctions against Russia. Those gas pipelines may get shut down permanently. Germany can be brought under control.

The Russians are playing it cool over Ukraine. Yes they have placed 120,000 troops along the border with Ukraine but I think it is just for show.

Mr Putin is a master strategist. Lets see what happens.
