PETALING JAYA: Technology services firm HeiTech Padu Bhd has been awarded a RM190 million contract by the road transport department (JPJ) for the maintenance of its MySikap system and IT infrastructure.
In an announcement on Bursa Malaysia today, HeiTech Padu said it signed the letter of award from JPJ on April 15, with the three-year contract commencing on May 1.
The company said none of its directors or substantial shareholders had any interest in the contract.
“The contract is in the best interest of the company and is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024, and onwards until the completion of the contract.
“The risks are normal risks encountered by companies undertaking a similar endeavour, and the company has taken the necessary steps to protect itself and to mitigate the risks as and when they occur,” it said.
According to The Edge, HeiTech Padu was awarded a similar contract by JPJ in 2021. The RM36 million contract was only for about 13 months but was extended for four months, and then a year, for RM10 million and RM27 million, respectively.
Earlier this year, HeiTech Padu said it had secured a contract extension worth RM13.1 million for the provision of maintenance services to the Malaysian Immigration System.
It said the 12-month contract extension runs from Feb 18 to Feb 17 next year. The company first secured the three-year contract in March 2021. It was worth RM33.9 million and ended on Feb 17, 2024.
HeiTech Padu had also won a RM58.89 million contract from the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to provide “next-generation network services” for the agency. This was reportedly announced in January. - FMT
