Police hunting 8th suspect in KL robbery probe

The police are on the lookout for an individual to assist in the investigation of a robbery in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month, in which five police officers have been remanded.

According to Sinar Harian, KL police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa said the man is the eighth suspect in the robbery incident.

“The police are tracking down this individual who is believed to be a member of the public.

“We will distribute photos of the suspect to the public, after efforts to locate him at his old address had been unsuccessful,” Rusdi (above) told a press conference at the Cheras district police headquarters.

So far, seven individuals have been remanded, including five police officers who were remanded for the maximum length of time, and released on police bail.

The investigation recovered cash amounting to RM142,000 and 27,000 baht (RM3,500), believed to have been stolen from the victim, a foreigner, at his residence in Jalan Tun Razak on April 7.

The investigation is ongoing, Rusdi added. - Mkini
