Bjak looking for ‘win-win’ solution after RTD’s rebuke

Bjak Sdn Bhd says it is working to find a “win-win” solution after the Road Transport Department said the insurance aggregator service is not authorised to carry out road tax renewal transactions.

“Bjak acknowledges the issues raised by the RTD and is actively working with the authority to find a win-win situation that benefits the consumers.

“It’s important to note that Bjak’s free road tax campaign is part of a private initiative aimed at enhancing customer value and is not affiliated with any governmental mandate or regulation,” it said in a statement today.

The company said it previously passed on charges imposed by the RTD’s official service providers but is now making it an optional complimentary service for its customers.

The company was responding to an RTD statement earlier today saying it has not approved Bjak to offer road tax renewal services and took issue with the company’s claim that, “Online roadtax renewal at Bjak has been audited, validated, and approved by RTD”.

The department also said it has received public complaints that road tax renewals carried out via Bjak did not have the validity period of road tax updated.

“RTD wants to encourage road tax renewal transactions through RTD counters, kiosks, RTD Mobile counters, MyJPJ applications, RTD public portals, and RTD business partner platforms (Pos Malaysia, MyEG, and Puspakom) only,” Bernama quoted the department as saying. - Mkini
