KKB BY-ELECTION | Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) candidate Hafizah Zainudin has become the first Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election candidate to unveil her manifesto.
The manifesto, containing six pertinent points, was launched at the party’s operation centre in Jalan Ampang Pecah, in Rasa, Hulu Selangor, this morning.
Chief among the agenda of the manifesto is advancing the socioeconomic status of the locals, she said.
“Economic growth without usury (riba) and the income of Kuala Kubu Baharu folks, especially those involved in small and medium-sized businesses, and establishing a cooperative for the community in every village and housing area.
“Those are the pledges I promise to fulfil if I win in the by-election,” she said.
In addition, Hafizah also said she will work toward establishing a technology hub for herbal plants for medicinal purposes, and encourage the locals to engage in eco-friendly activities and economy.
'Ride the bison'
“Fourthly, I will establish a service centre for locals affected by experimental gene therapy and Covid-19 vaccines.
“My fifth pledge is ensuring all public amenities, government buildings, police stations, and drainage systems are safe and clean,” she said.
Her final pledge is upping the welfare allocations for families of low-ranking civil servants, women, senior citizens, the disabled, and children.
“My advice is don't ride on race or religion. Just ride the seladang (bison), for the sake of the rakyat,” she said, referring to the party’s logo.
Come May 11, Hafizah will face Pakatan Harapan’s Pang Sock Tao, Perikatan Nasional candidate Khairul Azhari Saut, and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.
The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is held following the death of its incumbent Lee Kee Hiong, on March 21, from cancer.
May 11 has been fixed for polling, while early voting will be on May 7. - Mkini
