PUTRAJAYA:
Civil servants who may be affected by traffic congestion due to the Asean Summit this month have been advised to apply to work from home (WFH).

The public services department (JPA) said the WFH policy for civil servants would continue to be implemented flexibly, subject to current regulations.

“Eligible civil servants are advised to contact their respective heads of department for appropriate consideration,” it said in a statement today.

It also said that all department heads had been authorised to consider WFH applications from those who might be affected by the traffic congestion in conjunction with the Asean Summit and related programmes scheduled throughout the month.

JPA said this was among the government’s initiatives to prioritise a resilient and caring administration.

It added that the WFH policy would be guided by the procedures and conditions outlined in the human resources service circular or MyPPSM.

The 2025 Asean Summit will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 26 and 27.

It is expected to bring together about 20,000 participants, including heads of states, delegates, and officials from member countries as well as dialogue partners such as China and the Gulf countries. - FMT
