The two boys allegedly threatened to share nude videos of a couple unless they were paid, say police.

Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said the complainant received a WhatsApp message from an acquaintance on April 11, threatening to share the videos unless he paid them money.
“The victim paid RM2,800 to the suspects in instalments. The suspects then asked for an additional RM1,000, after which the complainant lodged a police report,” he said in a statement today.
Azam said a team from the Ampang Jaya criminal investigation department carried out the arrests at the Galaxy Ampang shopping centre on Sunday, and also seized three mobile phones.
“Our investigation found that the first suspect has a criminal record for four offences, one of them drug-related, while the other had no criminal record.
“Both suspects tested positive for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) use,” he said.
Azam said the suspects are being investigated under Section 385 of the Penal Code for extortion, punishable with up to seven years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping or any two of the punishments, if convicted.
They are also being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code for possession of obscene material, which provides for up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both. - FMT
