Abdul Aziz Zainal will carry out his duties as chairman of the National Service Training Council.

He will oversee the reimplementation of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 from April 14 until April 13, 2028, Bernama reported.
Defence minister Khaled Nordin said Aziz’s appointment had been approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.
He said the reintroduction of PLKN reflected the government’s commitment to building a patriotic nation and inculcating noble values.
“Even if we cannot ensure 100% of the population is patriotic and willing to sacrifice for the country, we can at least earnestly pursue a process or special intervention that ensures many members of society continue to uphold a high spirit of patriotism,” he said.
Armed forces chief Nizam Jaffar and air force chief Asghar Khan Goriman Khan were present at a ceremony to present the appointment letters to Aziz and members of the council.
Khaled said the council will consist of a chairman, five members representing the government, and three to five others representing the major races in the country. - FMT
