The 27-year-old suspect was sent to Melaka Hospital to be treated for injuries to his legs, hands and head after the citizen’s arrest.

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the suspect was handed over by members of the public to police officers at 12.30pm.
“We received a call from an individual informing us that a young man had been detained by members of the public after robbing a gold shop,” he said in a statement.
A body search of the suspect found five gold chains weighing about 15.35gm and an iron hammer.
Patit said the suspect tested negative for drugs.
He was sent to Melaka Hospital to be treated for injuries to his legs, hands and head before being placed in lockup at the Melaka Tengah police headquarters for further investigation. - FMT
