Over 350 Malaysians in India getting help, says Wisma Putra

 The foreign ministry says consular assistance is being actively carried out by our high commissions in both New Delhi and Islamabad.

The foreign ministry said over 100 Malaysians stranded in Pakistan are scheduled to return home soon.

 More than 350 Malaysians in India are currently receiving consular aid, while over 100 in Pakistan are scheduled to return home soon.

In a statement today, Wisma Putra said it is closely monitoring the situation in both countries following flight disruptions and the closure of airspace at several major airports.

It said consular assistance is being actively carried out by the Malaysian high commissions in both New Delhi and Islamabad, along with the respective consulate offices.

“The welfare of Malaysian citizens remains our top priority. Our diplomatic missions are working tirelessly to provide the necessary support,” it said.

Malaysians near border areas in the two countries have been advised to postpone non-essential travel and to register with the nearest Malaysian mission.

On Saturday, India and Pakistan were reported to have agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” after a fourth day of strikes and counter-strikes against each other’s military installations.

Pakistan’s foreign minister also said both countries had agreed to a ceasefire “with immediate effect”. - FMT
