PAS MUKTAMAR | Penang PAS Ulama today hit out at Gerakan president Dominic Lau over his alleged failure to lead the state Perikatan Nasional.
Its delegate to the PAS Ulama Muktamar in Kedah, Shafirul Rozani, said the coalition needs to work and be seen as a functioning political party in Penang.
However, according to him, Lau appeared to be unable to helm the state opposition coalition.
"Imagine that you have a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but you cannot drive your car because the steering wheel is in the hands of another person.
"I think you can understand what I'm trying to say, right? PN has to do work and be seen as doing work, but its steering wheel is being held by someone else.
"If the chairperson does not know how to drive a car despite it being a new car, perhaps it's better for us to change the chairperson.
"I am talking only in the context of Penang. I can't say for other states. We are not asking for a prime minister (post), we are only asking that every position, especially in PN, must function and be seen as functioning," he said.
This was not the first time Penang PAS had raised issues against Lau.
Last year, the state PAS Youth reportedly called for Penang PN restructuring. - Mkini
