
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two more men in connection with the Kampung Sungai Baru commotion that left Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman injured.
This brings the total number of arrests over the incident to nine so far. One of them, a 26-year-old, pleaded guilty and was fined RM1,500 by the court last week.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said all eight men, including the two arrested recently, have been released on police bail following the expiry of their remand orders.
He said investigators have so far recorded statements from 67 people to assist in the investigation. - NST
