A 16-year-old girl, Yap Shing Xuen, was fatally stabbed at her school in Bandar Utama last Tuesday.
The suspect, a 14-year-old male student who was also the victim’s schoolmate, was arrested on the same day.
Police also seized two sharp weapons found in the suspect’s possession, believed to have been used in the attack.
Last Friday, Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari said the state government will implement immediate measures, including using metal detectors and installing CCTV cameras, to strengthen safety at the Bandar Utama secondary school involved.
He said other measures include implementing on-site student registration and using a smart notification system linking parents and teachers. - FMT
