The prime minister says this brings Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia’s total available funding to RM2.9 billion, benefitting more than 300,000 micro-entrepreneurs.

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said RM230 million has been allocated to Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) in the 2026 budget to continue providing financing for women entrepreneurs.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said this brings AIM’s total available funding to RM2.9 billion, benefitting more than 300,000 micro-entrepreneurs.
“AIM’s loan repayment performance has been excellent, with a 99.97% repayment rate,” Bernama reported him as saying when presenting the 2026 budget in the Dewan Rakyat.
Anwar also announced that Bank Rakyat, Bank Simpanan Nasional, Majlis Amanah Rakyat, and SME Bank will provide an additional RM270 million in financing to support women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises. - FMT
