US President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia this morning to attend the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits, marking his first visit to the country since resuming diplomatic engagements in the region.
Air Force One touched down at Kompleks Bunga Raya, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, at 10.04am, where Trump was received by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, senior Cabinet members, and government officials.
In a light-hearted moment, Trump and Anwar drew smiles from onlookers when they danced briefly to the tune of Hawaii Five-O played by the welcoming band.
Trump performed his signature campaign-style dance, slow rhythmic movements with air punches and hip sways, while Anwar joined in with a matching sway, eliciting cheers from those present.
The two leaders exchanged greetings before Trump invited Anwar for a brief private chat inside “The Beast,” the presidential limousine.
Meanwhile, aviation enthusiasts gathered at the Anjung Spotter KLIA viewing deck to witness the historic arrival of Air Force One. Among them was Muhammad Abd Hafiz, who said he did not want to miss this rare opportunity, having missed then-President Barack Obama’s visit in 2014.
