A social media influencer known as Cikgu Chandra has claimed to be the victim of an attack on his house and arson to his cars in an incident yesterday.
A self-described social activist, Cikgu Chandra, real name S Chandrasegaran, first posted a video about a break-in of his home in Puchong yesterday afternoon, which also damaged one of his cars.
While his personal social media accounts appear to have been disabled, the expletive-laden video alleging the attack by “three fully masked men armed with machetes” has been widely shared online.
In the video, Chandrasegaran was heard using the slur “botol kicap” (soy sauce bottle) in reference to the alleged perpetrators’ skin colour.
“We know who these people are, ‘orang botol kicap’! Look at this, all the grilles, all the windows are destroyed, my car as well,” he said in the video.

The motive of the attacks is unclear so far, but Chandrasegaran, who was arrested on Feb 11 for allegedly posting seditious remarks about his Indian community, had implied it could be in retaliation for his stand against illegal construction of Hindu temples.
In a series of postings, Islamic preacher and Multiracial Reverted Muslims president Firdaus Wong subsequently revealed another attack on Chandrasegaran’s house at around 3am, this time, three cars were set on fire.
Firdaus, who also shared a video of the incident, said, “When Cikgu Chandra contacted me at 5.30am, he informed me that the police were monitoring the area around his house and safeguarding his family.
“I am confident that the police will arrest the suspect, the mastermind, as well as those who incited the act, soon. Do not be angry with the police as they are carrying out their duties.
“Once the operation begins, they will haul everyone in. Trust me.”

Malaysiakini has contacted Serdang police for further information on the alleged attacks.
‘Remain calm’
In an immediate reaction, Selangor PAS Youth condemned the attacks and described the incident as a criminal act that must not be tolerated.
Its information chief Suffi Kamari said the violent act not only threatened Chandrasegaran’s safety but also put his family members at risk.
“Such perpetrators must not be allowed to remain at large, as it could foster a culture of intimidation and violence in society.
“We also call on all parties to remain calm and refrain from taking actions beyond the bounds of the law, even if there are differences in opinion or disagreement with any individual,” he said. - Mkini
