Sungai Udang assemblyman Dr Aleef Yusof cites unity among Malays and Malay-based parties as reasons for backing the former Bersatu deputy president.

In separate Facebook posts, Dr Aleef Yusof cited unity among Malays and Malay-based parties as reasons for backing Hamzah.
“It looks like I don’t agree with Muhyiddin,” the Sungai Udang assemblyman said, referring to the former prime minister’s remarks yesterday.
“I’m backing Hamzah.”
Muhyiddin was reported to have said he would oppose any move to bring Hamzah back into PN’s fold under a new party.
Hamzah previously confirmed that he had held discussions on the possibility of taking over Parti Keluarga Malaysia.
Aleef’s backing of Hamzah followed a call by PAS treasurer Iskandar Abdul Samad for PN to be open to accepting any party or organisation that shares its aspirations.
Iskandar said leaders should be magnanimous and set aside past disputes for the sake of the nation’s future.
PN leaders, he said, should also avoid giving the impression that they were out for revenge as people are “always watching and judging.” - FMT
