Donation to PDRM Autism Centre reflects commitment to welfare, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM30,000 was contributed to the Pengaman/Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Autism Centre.

The contribution was presented by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and his wife Datin Seri Munirah Che Rose on Wednesday (March 18).

Mohd Khalid was accompanied by Munirah, who is also the chairman of the Police Family Association (Perkep) Malaysia.

During the ceremony, a total of RM30,000 was handed over to Tan Sri Hussin Ismail, who is also chairman of the autism centre committee, to support welfare efforts and development at the facility.

"The contribution, presented in the form of a mock cheque, comprised RM20,000 from the PDRM Welfare and Sports Club fund and RM10,000 from Perkep," the police said in a Facebook post.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen facilities and services at the autism centre, benefiting children with special needs who require continuous support.

It also reflects the police's commitment to enhancing its social responsibility and expanding support for the community, particularly in the areas of welfare and special education.

Also present were Bukit Aman Management director Comm Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, Bukit Aman Management (Administration) assistant director DCP Datuk Mohd Faisal Yahya, Yayasan Pengaman Malaysia board of trustees member Tan Sri Mohd Najib Abdul Aziz, along with Datuk Ramli Din, Police Force Secretary DCP Abdul Rahman Kassim and the autism centre manager Azura Izham. - Star
