Hadi: Devil's whispers sow doubt as Umno faces internal decay, PAS rejects 'Rumah Bangsa'

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said his party sent a representative to a recent meeting organised by Umno to suss out who was involved in the attempt to unite the Malays.

However, he said they saw the meeting as Umno’s attempt to unite the community based on nationalism instead of Islam.

This was because Umno still befriended and “showed allegiance” to DAP in forming the federal government, he said.

In a statement today, Hadi also said they could perceive everything that was “hidden” during the meeting, even though no DAP representatives were present.

“It is mandatory to ensure who can be a trusted friend or a doubtful opponent because Allah obliges us to choose righteous friends and distance ourselves from friends who ruin religious and worldly affairs, which serve as a bridge to the afterlife,” he said.

He also said that during the meeting, they could observe how Umno was plagued with problems to the point that many members were leaving the party’s struggle.

“It could be seen how the disease of doubt sown from the devil’s whispers is disturbing Umno members, as there is a regression from Umno’s original struggle, which placed religion as a part of the party’s foundation,” said the Marang MP.

Umno convenes Malay-Muslim parties meeting

On March 5, Umno held a meeting with various Malay-Muslim parties at its Kuala Lumpur headquarters to share and strengthen the government’s agenda.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the meeting was to explain policies and initiatives implemented by Islamic parties in the government throughout the past three years of their administration.

“These matters need to be shared with them because we do not want the perception that Malays are threatened and Islam is endangered… because it is a shared issue.

“If there are shortcomings, there must be suggestions on how they should be strengthened, not through external attacks based on a lack of understanding regarding the issues raised,” he said.

Zahid said the meeting was also to ensure all parties have accurate facts regarding government policies so that any issue can be discussed constructively.

The parties involved were Umno, PAS, PKR, Amanah, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, Berjasa, Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress, and Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia.

PAS was represented by its secretary-general, Takiyuddin Hassan.

Hadi condemns Umno’s ghostly ties, rituals

Commenting further, Hadi said only Islam is feared by “the devil and its army of ghosts”, adding that the religion will keep Malays safe.

“Without Islam, Malays are in danger, and all races will not be safe,” he asserted.

He also said some Umno leaders are willing to befriend “all kinds of ghosts”, including the largest “hantu raya” (familiar spirit) and “clever ghosts with an Islamic facade” for the sake of obtaining power and property.

“Besides that, they are also treated to worshipful feasts believed to help extend life and expand livelihoods.”

Hadi said such feasts are attended by religiously devout but ignorant lebai (Islamic clerics) who cause the meat from their ritual slaughter to become non-halal.

He also said such lebai go on to lead prayers which are mixed with idolatrous and un-Islamic practices.

He said PAS is not influenced by the bait and deceptions of the devil and its allies, which have been “worn-out weapons” used by the “ignorant in Umno”.

For that reason, Hadi said PAS refuses to join Umno’s Rumah Bangsa (Home for the Malays) because it is like taking shelter under an unsafe roof or a tattered umbrella.

“It is even more dangerous if it becomes like a house without a roof and walls, where ghosts can enter and stay, thus endangering its inhabitants,” he said.

During Umno’s annual general assembly in January, Zahid announced the formation of a new party committee dubbed the “Rumah Bangsa Unification Committee” to restore Malay political unity.

The deputy prime minister said this includes opening the door for individuals or groups that previously left the party to return to Umno.

He said the committee would facilitate the re-entry of certain parties, either individually or “en bloc”, in line with the aspiration to position Umno as the “big home of the Malays”. - Mkini
