KUANTAN: People across Pahang are invited to attend the Aidilfitri open house hosted by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail in Lanchang, Temerloh.
The event will be held on Sunday, March 22, at Dewan Sri Lanchang from 9.30am to 2pm.
Wan Rosdy said the open house, which serves as a platform to strengthen ties between state leaders and the public, would continue as usual this year.
"Last year, it was held at Felda Chini in Pekan, and this year we have chosen Lanchang as the venue. I warmly invite the public, including Pahang residents, to attend," he told reporters after a breaking-of-fast event with Felda settlement heads at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Sports Complex today.
This marks the second occasion Wan Rosdy is hosting his Aidilfitri open house outside Kuantan. Traditionally, the event is held at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall in Kuantan.
Guests at the open house will have the opportunity to mingle with state leaders while enjoying a selection of traditional Aidilfitri dishes.
Wan Rosdy added that during Sunday's weekly Pahang executive council meeting, a decision was made on whether to host or skip Aidilfitri open house celebrations.
Last week, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that ministries, government agencies, and government-linked companies would not hold open houses this year, citing rising tensions in the Middle East and promoting moderate spending. - NST
